National Council Licensure Examination

NCLEX is a nationwide examination for the licensing of nurses in the United States and Canada since 1994 and 2015, respectively. There are two types, the NCLEX-RN and the NCLEX-PN. NCLEX is a national council licensure examination for candidates who are planning a career in United states of America. NCLEX examination is of two types like PN and RN. Total number of questions for NCLEX PN will be 85 - 205 numbers and for RN will be 75 - 265 and the duration of the exam will be 6 hours approximately. NCLEX examination once cleared is valid for the rest of the life. But a renewal of license is mandatory when required for which each state has different policies. Upto 8 attempts are possible in a year with an interval of 45 days approximately after each attempt.

Examination processing steps:-

1. Register with Pearson Vue.            
2.An application should be forwarded to the State nursing board where you are planning to practice.                      
3.Receive an ATT( Authorization to Test) from Pearson Vue in 2 - 3 weeks.                    
4.The examination fees is 300 to 350$ which is paid to Pearson Vue at the time of registration.  
5. Once an ATT is approved, the candidate can appear for the examination.                
6. Exam results will be sent to the candidate only from the board of nursing within 6 weeks approximately.            
7. Please do not contact Pearson Vue services or NCSBN for exam results.
